What the price depends on
The Munich Card is available for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 consecutive days. The partner discounts are the same in every option; you only decide how long the Card is valid, who it's for and whether buses and trains are included. Three things move the price:
- The duration. Each extra day costs more but lowers the price per day.
- Single or group. The group ticket covers up to 5 people; two children aged 6 to 14 count as one person.
- The MVV ticket. Without public transport the Card is cheapest. With the ticket you choose between Zone M (the city area) and the full M-6 network, which also covers the airport, Lake Starnberg and Dachau.
The booking window above shows the current amounts as soon as you've picked the duration and travellers.
Which discounts to expect
The Munich Card is a discount card: at the ticket desk you pay the regular price minus the partner discount, or the regular child price minus the discount for children. Each partner sets its own discount, some as a fixed amount, some as a percentage. A selection from Turbopass's partner list, as of September 2026:
| Partner | Discount with the Card |
|---|---|
| Residenz Museum, Treasury | €1 each |
| Nymphenburg Palace, Marstallmuseum | €1 each |
| Deutsches Museum | €2.50 |
| Alte Pinakothek | €3 |
| Pinakothek der Moderne | 30% |
| Glyptothek, State Collections of Antiquities | 33% |
| Cathedral tower climb, New Town Hall tower | 20% each |
| Hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour | 10% |
| Official Old Town walking tour | 20% |
You can use the discount once at each partner while the Card is valid. Turbopass shows the full list when you book; a selection with descriptions is on the attractions page.
When the Card pays off
At the big museums and palaces the discount is a few euros. On its own, without public transport, the Card only pays off if you visit several partners or book one of the tours with a percentage discount. If you'll be taking the U-Bahn and tram every day anyway, or arriving from the airport, add the MVV ticket and the discounts come on top. How far the ticket reaches is explained on the public transport page.
Cancellation
You can cancel up to one day before the first day of validity; whether a fee applies is set out in Turbopass's terms and conditions. Turbopass support answers booking questions; the contact details are on the contact page.
FAQ
Questions about the price
Short answers on prices and options. All questions about the Munich Card are on the FAQ page.
How much does the Munich Card cost? +
The booking window above shows the current price for each duration, separately for adults and for children aged 6 to 14. The MVV ticket is an optional extra. Longer durations cost more, but the price per day goes down.
Is the group ticket worth it? +
For couples, families and small groups it usually is: one group ticket covers up to 5 people, and two children aged 6 to 14 count as one person. Every member of the group gets the partner discounts; the MVV ticket is tied to the main cardholder, who has to be there on every journey.
Does public transport cost extra? +
Yes. The MVV ticket is an option you choose when you buy, and it raises the price depending on whether you take Zone M for the city area or the full M-6 network. What the ticket covers is explained on the public transport page.
