How it works

Your Munich Card in 4 steps

The Card is digital and valid from the start date you set when you buy it.

    Choose the duration, start date and travellers, and add the MVV ticket if you need it. You'll need the names and dates of birth of everyone travelling.

    Get it digitally

    After payment the Card arrives by email, with a QR code for your phone. The MVV ticket appears within a few minutes.

    Valid from the start date

    The Card is valid from the start date you booked, for the chosen number of consecutive days.

    Show it and save

    Show the Card at the ticket desk before you pay and get the discounted price. You usually don't need to book ahead.

Is public transport included in the Munich Card? +

Only if you add it. When you buy, you choose the Card with or without an MVV ticket, for Zone M (the city area) or the full M-6 network including the airport. The ticket covers the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram, bus and regional trains.

When does the Card start and how long is it valid? +

The Card is valid from the start date you enter when booking, for 1 to 5 consecutive days. It's sent to you by email, and you show the QR code on your phone at the ticket desk.

What's the difference between the Munich Card and the Munich City Pass? +

The Munich Card gets you a discount: you buy your ticket at the desk yourself and pay less. The Munich City Pass is a separate product where admission to many attractions is already included in the price.
